Leticia de Souza

Leticia de Souza is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation at Baylor University, specializing in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. Her research examines the effects of specialized pro-resolving mediators (lipid molecules derived from omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA) on recovery from exercise-induced muscle damage. She is also interested in dietary intake patterns among athletes and the role of nutrition and supplementation in enhancing athletic performance and recovery from exercise. Leticia earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Nutrition and her master's in nutrition, both at Baylor University. As part of her doctoral training, she has taught Consumer Nutrition and Human Anatomy Lab. Outside of academics, Leticia enjoys staying active, being outdoors, and spending time with friends.
